MORNING GRIND 1 IN THE BOOKS!

77 racers took part to the first of 3 Morning Grind races at Eldora and so far all the feedback we heard on the technical course both up and down (with GS gates!) was positive!

Cool to think that some of our 14yo Boulder Youth Skimo kids picked the race course route through the trees (while Coaches flagged it).

Morning Grind race entries’ proceeds go directly towards EMSC (our partner)’s operating & insurance expenses, which is critical in ensuring this new program continues.

At tomorrow’s Eldora Community Uphill Friday

New Boulder Skimo —Human Powered Skiing — tees are in! We’ll be at the La Sportiva booth tomorrow, Friday 1/31, from 7 to 9am at Eldora (Indian Peaks Lodge area, either indoor or on-snow) during the Community Uphill Friday shenanigans.

Missed the Season Kickoff Party and didn’t get your member packet? We’ll have a handful of those too.

We’re stoked to open up Skimo Coached Training for all ages!

Ski up & down under the lights at Eldora in a controlled environment on a variety of terrain and sprint-like courses while getting hands-on coaching on uphill, downhill, transitions, and the MANY skills involved in being either a competent skimo racer or a more well-rounded fast & light ski tourer.

These sessions will run through March and are $25/session.

IMPORTANT INFO:

• Intermediate to advanced ski tourers & downhill skiers

• Must have own gear and know how use it

• Must have a valid Eldora Uphill Pass (free with Eldora Alpine Ski Pass, IKON pass, or $99)

HEATHEN CHALLENGE

The longest continuously run ski mountaineering race in Colorado is back this weekend!

The Heathen strives to incorporate as much backcountry skiing as possible, and descends one of Colorado's steepest "in bounds" runs at 52 degrees (twice!).

Race #3 of the Colorado Skimo Cup is next weekend!

Last year it was a super fun course, and this year there will also be Sprint and a Vertical races on Friday.
