Founded by Italian-born Davide Giardini in 2022 to bring European-style fast & light ski touring to the endurance sports capital of America (Boulder, Colorado), the Boulder Skimo Club has now grown to over 450 subscribers!
“Having competed on the FIS ski racing circuit in the Italian Alps as a youth, and having lived & breathed the endurance sports both as a professional athlete and coach right from the epicenter of it all — Boulder, Colorado, I can safely say that the Boulder area is one of the best areas in the world for practicing ski touring and building a community of like-minded people around it.
I founded the Boulder Skimo Club club as a way to get people together, be the go-to resource for the sport in Boulder and help break down its historically high barriers of entry.
“Ski touring is the way of the future for the ski industry. It’s greener, cheaper and more sustainable than traditional skiing. The learning curve is quick and it allows for not only a greater appreciation of the mountain terrain and one’s physical abilities, but also a new way to enjoy the mountain away from the crowds.”

In order to join club activities, you’ll need to know how to ski down a groomed “blue” run.

If you’re a backcountry skier and don’t do skimo events and resort fitness laps, you’re seriously limiting the number of days you’re skiing!
In the depth of winter (December-March) in Colorado your true backcountry days are very limited due to the snowpack’s instability.
During this time, there is nothing better for your skiing, for your mental & physical health, and for meeting new partners than jumping into skimo events or lapping your local resort!
